   arable land:  4.936 million hectares

   other lands:  0.307 million hectares
About 32 percent of the country's total land area were agricultural lands. Of this, 51% and 44% were arable and permanent croplands, respectively.

At constant 2000 prices, Gross Value Added (GVA) in agriculture and fishing grew by 2.81 percent in 2012. Average annual rate of increase was 1.76 percent over the period 2010 to 2012.

In 2012, production levels of palay and corn were higher than the 2011 records by 8.08 percent and 6.25 percent, respectively. Production of hog increased by 1.71 percent while that of chicken grew by 4.61 percent.
